Arthur Shattuck O’Keefe was born in New York and lives in Kanagawa, Japan. In his debut novel The Spirit Phone (BHC Press, 2022), occultist Aleister Crowley and inventor Nikola Tesla confront the enigma of Thomas Edison's new invention: a phone to communicate with the dead.
O’Keefe’s short fiction includes stories in Johnny America, ScribesMICRO, Flash Fiction Magazine, The Stray Branch, and Ragazine. His articles have appeared in Rain Taxi, PopMatters, The Japan Times, Kyoto Journal, and Japan Today.
